Dia Beacon is one of the largest exhibition spaces in the country for modern and contemporary art. Located in a former Nabisco box printing factory overlooking the Hudson River in Beacon, NY, the museum presents the Dia Foundation's collection of art from the 1960s to the present, as well as changing special exhibitions and public programs. Permanent collection holdings include artworks by artists who came to prominence during the 1960s and 1970s, including Joseph Beuys, Dan Flavin, Donald Judd, Agnes Martin, and Andy Warhol.

The Historic Sites of the Morris County Park Commission

The Morris County Park Commission manages three historical sites at various locations, all them on the National Register of Historic Places. Fosterfields Living Historical Farm is a working farm situated on 213 acres which employs the tools, techniques, and materials of the 1920s. Originally built in built in 1826, the Cooper Gristmill at Black River County Park is one of the remaining restored water-powered mills in New Jersey. Historic Speedwell preserves the restored estate of Stephen Vail, proprietor of the Speedwell Iron Works from the early to mid-1800s, where Vail and Samuel B. The Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, located on the Hudson River in Manhattan, features the legendary aircraft carrier Intrepid, the space shuttle Enterprise, some of the world's fastest jets, and a guided missile submarine. The ship is now a National Historic Landmark, having served tours of duty in World War II and the Vietnam War, and acted as a recovery vessel for the Gemini and Mercury space missions. In addition to more than two dozen authentically restored aircraft, the museum includes the Exploreum Interactive Hall, an interactive exhibit space; an 18,000 sq. ft. education center; “Growler,” the only American diesel-powered strategic missile submarine open to the public; and Pier 86.

Jenkinson's Aquarium is located on the boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach, NJ. Dedicated to educating the public about marine life and conservation, the Aquarium is host to a range of exhibits, including Atlantic and Pacific sharks, coral reefs, African penguins, a Pacific Ocean kelp forest, rainforest monkeys and parrots, alligators, the Pine Barrens, local fish, and Atlantic and Pacific harbor seals. There is a touch tank which allows visitors to touch marine animals such as sea stars, whelks, sea urchins, horseshoe crabs, and stingrays. There is a gift shop on the premises.

Founded in 1913, the Morris Museum is home to a rather eclectic mix of collections focusing on fossils, local wildlife, model trains, minerals, Native Americans, and paintings and sculpture, among other things. The jewel of the museum, however, is the Murtogh D. Guinness Collection of mechanical musical instruments and automata, a demonstration of which is conducted every Saturday and Sunday at 2:00 pm. Part of the museum is in a Georgian-style mansion designed by Stanford White. There is a museum shop on the premises.

Originally founded to exhibit a collection of Hudson River School paintings, Storm King Art Center is a museum located on 500-acres in New York's Hudson Valley. Currently, the museum collects, exhibits, and conserves modern and contemporary art—from large-scale sculpture situated in Storm King's expansive landscape and site-specific earthworks to related drawings and photographs. The core collection includes pieces by Alexander Calder, David Smith, Mark di Suvero, Henry Moore, Douglas Abdell, Isamu Noguchi, Richard Serra, and Louise Nevelson. More recently acquired work includes large-scale sculptures by Magdalena Abakanowicz, Alice Aycock, Andy Goldsworthy, Alexander Liberman, Sol LeWitt, Roy Lichtenstein, and Maya Lin. This museum presents a number of permanent and rotating exhibitions—and an introductory film—which tell the story of Yogi Berra, while exploring history, culture, science and society within the larger context of baseball and sports. The permanent collection includes photographs, art, and artifacts, such as 16 vintage catcher's mitts and 76 oil paintings by renowned baseball artist Andy Jurinko that document the players that defined Yogi's era. An interactive pitching experience lets visitors of all ages face off against an animated batter, tracking the speed and accuracy of every throw. There is a gift store on the premises.
